Links Round-Up: Round One
I have a bad habit of collecting links until my inbox explodes, so this week there will be another 3-parter Round-Up series starting…..NOW. Yay! We’re talking oodles of information, y’all. First up, the amazing jewelry above. Wonderfully named ‘Le Knockout’, these “charms of youth” are made from discarded baby teeth. Fancy! Thanks, Ashley! (via Inhabitots and Le Knockout)
Are you overwhelmed by the imminent arrival of your little one? Never fear! Cold, hard cash can buy you just about anything these days, and helpful Baby Planners are the new Wedding Planners. “Baby planners charge a la carte rates from around $50 to $150 an hour or by packages, which can cost several hundred to several thousand dollars.” Sign me up. Thanks, Yusi! (via)
Did you see the Smart Baby Case I mentioned in this article on Lemondrop? Supposedly your baby can breathe in it. Magic! (via Impact Lab)
Lynn Harris wrote a popular Salon article titled ‘Everybody hates mommy’ and received a flood of response. I have many opinions about this piece, but the thing I most want to say is this: I can’t stand Mommy Martyrs and Daddy Martyrs equally, Ms. Harris. Truth. Thanks, Jenna! (via Salon)
‘@Uh-oh: Twoddler lets toddlers send tweets’. My only relief comes from knowing this horrible product is currently just a prototype. Thanks, Orion70! (via CNET and SF Gate)
It’s MLK Day so this story about a mother and her daughter who were booted off a city bus allegedly due to race is apropos. Until the verrrry end when the author briefly mentions that “a quick look at the [video] tape shows [her daughter] walking on the seat arms” of the bus. Right-O. I think that’s what they call ‘skewed’ journalism. Thanks, Sarah! (via)
This ‘color-changing sleep suit signals a baby’s fever.’ The submitter, Alexandra, adds, “Because they haven’t invented thermometers yet?” Thanks, Alexandra! (via)
This video of a mom raving at Sydney’s Field Day Festival is my new happy place. Excellent find, Eliot. (via Urlesque)
Don’t forget to stay tuned for Links Round-Up parts II and III this week! Also don’t forget to Follow Me on Twitter and Fan Me on Facebook! :)
