Name Drama: Blue Ivy Edition
I received this submission with the following explanation:
“One of my Facebook friends L has a daughter named Ivie and took umbrage to the fact that Beyonce named her daughter Blue Ivy because she felt it would no longer be unique enough, mainly because there might be ‘hoochie mamas’ naming their daughters Ivy, too. This from an English, middle-class bank manager. I have edited it but I think its fairly self explanatory.”
Indeed it is! Except the part where E. goes on to discuss the extremely uncommon name ‘William’, which actually became very popular in the year 1066. That part makes no sense whatsoever.
